I want to introduce you to a cross stitch designer, Heather Maraldo, that I just recently had the pleasure of getting to know. Her name is Heather Maraldo. Back in the beginning of November, I had attended a little cross stitch retreat in Allentown where a group of about 40 or so stitchers got together for a weekend of fun and stitching.
Heather was at that retreat, but I really did not get the chance to meet her at that time. Then a couple weeks later I was searching on Google for a baby birth sampler to do for a co-worker that is about to have a baby.
I let my co-worker choose a design she liked and this is what she had chosen.
So I set out to try to find out where I could get this pattern. I searched everywhere, but I could not find where I could get this or who the designer was. I posted it in my cross stitch group on Facebook to see if any of my members knew. It didn’t take long until I got a message from one of my members who told me this was one of Heather’s designs.
Heather then contacted me and told me that she heard I was looking for this pattern and wanted to know how she could help me. So we arranged that I would contact her once my friends baby was born and I had all the necessary information for her to personalize the chart for me.
If you are seeking a unique baby design, contact Heather and she will be happy to design and personalize one just for you!
Heather Maraldo is an avid cross-stitcher and cross stitch pattern designer based in the Philadelphia suburbs. She lives with her 3 children and husband and enjoys many artistic mediums that come into play when designing her cross-stitch patterns.
She started stitching over 30 years ago as a child when her mother, also an avid cross-stitcher, taught her to stitch. She worked in the graphic design industry before taking a break to be home with her children. She loved the artistic aspect of graphic design and quickly realized she could combine her love of graphic design with her love of cross-stitch.
She officially launched her cross-stitch pattern design shop on Etsy.com in 2012 and has been designing and stitching ever since. In June 2014 one of her designs was featured in Cross Stitcher Magazine.
She is thrilled when clients share their stitched pieces and stories behind them with her, she really enjoys knowing that her patterns have been part of a special time in someone’s life.
She has recently launched her own website, oneofakindbabydesign.com and is looking forward to continuing to grow her cross-stitch design portfolio. When she is not designing or stitching she is playing soccer and spending time with her family.
Here are just a few of Heather’s Designs. She had a wide variety of designs. Despite her website name of oneofakindbabydesign.com, she does much more than baby designs.
Arrows Baby Sampler
Cycle Wedding
Love Puppy Name
Wedding Pillow
These are just a few of her many designs. To see more, go to www.oneofakindbabydesign.com.
Heather has agreed to be one of the guest designers at the 2018 Cross Stitch Club Retreat being held in Harrisburg, PA. on Sept 28th-30th, 2018. She can only be there one day, either Friday or Saturday, depending on which suits her better due to family obligations.
I hope you will come join us for a very fun weekend and to meet Heather and see her designs up close and personal! Make sure you visit her website and hopefully you will find a pattern just for you!
